About Jane Cousens

Jane Cousens (she/her) is a Toronto based mixed media artist with a love of encaustic painting, mono printing and collage. She studied at the Ontario College of Art and, over the past decade has had the pleasure of attending courses by amazing encaustic artists including Andrea Bird, Christina Louisa, Jeffrey Hirst, Paula Roland and Lorraine Glessner.

Now, following a decades long public service career, she is dedicated to her art practice.  Her work has been in group shows at Toronto’s Propeller Gallery and the Hive Gallery in the Alton Mill Arts Centre. She has been selected by the Toronto Public Library to hold her first solo show at the Leaside Branch in May 2024. Jane’s current work leans into a meditative space to investigate the intersection of the natural world urban landscape.
