France Benoit (she/her) is an accomplished encaustic mixed media painter based in Mirabel, Québec, Canada. Her work is distinguished by a unique approach to encaustic art, where she explores the beauty of imperfection through the influence of the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi. By blending textures, colours, and forms, France creates compositions that evoke deep emotional responses and invite viewers to reflect on the subtle complexities of life.
France’s artistic journey has been shaped by continuous learning and experimentation. She has participated in numerous workshops and training sessions led by established artists, which have helped her refine her skills and expand her creative vision. Throughout her career, France Benoit has exhibited her work nationally and internationally. Notable venues include Brilliant Moment in British Columbia, the Propeller Gallery in Toronto, the San Antonio Art League and Museum, and the Federation Gallery. Her commitment to her craft is also demonstrated by her affiliation with the International Encaustic Artists, where she is recognized as a scholar. France is represented by the Kefi Art Gallery in Toronto and Perkins Gallery in Québec, which supports her ongoing artistic endeavours.
