About Daniela Godoy
Daniela Godoy is a Canadian professional Ebru marbler and educator based in the United Arab Emirates, specializing in urkish Ebru techniques. Through her platform @marblingme, she shares the beauty of traditional marbling as a meditative, healing, and creative art form. A passionate advocate for cultural preservation, Daniela is deeply committed to reviving arts on the brink of extinction, reawakening lost techniques from the 15th to 19th centuries and making them accessible to modern artists.
For the past five years, Daniela has shared her art at notable events including the RAK Fine Arts Festival, Dubai Culture Calligraphy Biennale, Sikka Art and Design Festival, and DIFC Art Nights. In 2024, she was selected as a Semi-Finalist for the Lucca Italy Biennale Cartasia Architecture and Design Festival and won the Dubai Co-Chocolat Ramadan Chocolate Box Design. She recently graced the cover of Canadian magazine Blank Spaces.
A qualified teacher with ten years of experience, Daniela serves as an adjunct Art History instructor at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah and is currently completing a PhD researching the material culture of marbling. She regularly teaches workshops in art centers, schools, and cultural festivals, introducing hundreds of participants to the flow and mindfulness of ink. Her teaching emphasizes personal expression, and cultural heritage with expertise in Turkish Ebru, Japanese Suminagashi, Kintsugi, Cyanotypes, Macrame, and Neurographics.
Through her work as both artist and educator, Daniela embodies the intersection of creativity, cultural heritage preservation, and academic rigor, transforming traditional art forms into meaningful contemporary practice.
