About Session

The art of storytelling using encaustic three-dimensional molds and sculptural constructs has always been central to my art practice. The physical and tactile ability to mold elements, objects and even ideas using encaustic is, I believe, one of the most powerful properties of using this material.

In this presentation I will explore how to create a range of molds using a brief visual presentation of some of my previous work which covers a variety of molds from some very basic to a number of extremely complex structures. I will give a demonstration on how to create a mold using modelling clay that will be filled with wax and an anchor/hinge added. Finally, the completed mold will be attached to an encaustic coated panel.
