In this demonstration, I will show how to create a traditional hand-sewn Ethiopian book with wood covers. I will demonstrate historic methods of paper folding, paper slitting, and the traditional four-needle chain stitch that is decorative, strong, and flexible. Witness the merits of 6th century technology! This style of bookbinding is perfect for the addition of encaustic panels as covers.
