Land Acknowlegment

The Canadian Encaustic Conference is present in all corners of our country. Our organizers and participating artists are from different communities across Indigenous territories. We are committed to working with First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities and we seek to uphold equity and diversity for all to participate.

The Conference is hosted on the traditional Territory of the Anishinabek Nation: The People of the Three Fires known as Ojibway, Odawa, and Pottawatomi Nations. And we further give thanks to the Chippewas of Saugeen, and the Chippewas of Nawash, known collectively as the Saugeen Ojibway Nation, as the traditional keepers of this land, now called Owen Sound.
