No. Your conference registration includes access to any sessions you wish to attend. You do not need to register for the individual Conference Presentations and Demos.
Your conference registration includes a continental breakfast, full buffet lunch with gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan options as well as an afternoon snack, tea and coffee.

Banquet Details
* Saturday, September 11 from 6:30 pm – 900 pm.
* Enjoy a delicious three-course plated dinner, beginning with a fresh seasonal salad. For the main course, choose from a vegan option, chicken, or Georgian whitefish, served with potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Conclude your meal with dessert, accompanied by tea or coffee. A cash bar will also be available.
* You do not need to register for the conference or workshops to attend the banquet. Guests are welcome.
* The banquet will be held in the Ballroom at the Best Western Inn on the Bay, located at 1800 2nd Ave E, Owen Sound
No. Workshop registrations are separate from the Conference Registration.
Pre-conference workshops take place the week before and the week after the Conference.
Workshops will be held at Upwards Art and Grey Bruce Makers in Owen Sound. Carpooling can be arranged through the private Facebook group.

The Best Western Inn on the Bay is the preferred hotel for the Canadian Encaustic Conference. It is located steps from the conference venue. They have provided us with highly discounted rates. You will be provided with a special link to reserve rooms once you have registered. These rooms range in price from $180-$200 / night. The regular room rates in September range from $250-$400 / night. It is advisable that people share rooms when possible. Please organize this through our private Facebook group (access will be granted after registration is received).
There are other options for motels in Owen Sound, namely: Quality Inn, Comfort Inn, Travelodge. There are others but they are not recommended due to cleanliness and safety.
There are many options for Bed & Breakfasts, AirB&Bs, cottages or cabins in the area. Search Owen Sound or Grey County or Bruce County. There may be people coming that have vacation property in the area that will be offering places to stay – connect in the private Facebook group.
After registering, you will be invited to join our private Facebook group. Through this group, you will be able to connect with others who are coming and arrange to share accommodations and carpool.

Pearson International (YYZ) is a large airport located in Toronto’s west-end that serves all international airlines. Pearson is approximately 2.5 hours south of Owen Sound. See below for shuttle bus or car rental information.
Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ) is a small airport in downtown Toronto. Depending on the time of your flight, there may be traffic delays to get out of the City. You can take a free shuttle from Billy Bishop to Union Station where you can connect to Flixbus.
London International (YXU) is located in London, Ontario. It is a smaller airport serving Air Canada, WestJet, Flair, SunWing, and Air Transat. It is easy to navigate and has short wait times. London is located approximately 3 hours south of Owen Sound.
Region of Waterloo International (YKF) is located in Kitchener, Ontario. It is a small airport serving WestJet, Flair, SunWing, and Air Transat. It is very easy to navigate and has extremely short wait times. Kitchener is located approximately 2 hours south of Owen Sound.
Americans may find it less expensive to fly into US border airports—Buffalo Niagara International (BUF) or Detroit Metro Wayne County Airport (DTW). Using these airports would mean accessing Canada through a land crossing at one of the borders.
Canada/US Land Borders: Niagara-on-the-Lake (Queenston Lewiston Bridge); Niagara Falls (Niagara Falls Rainbow Bridge); Fort Erie (Peace Bridge); Sarnia (Blue Water Bridge); Windsor (Windsor-Detroit Tunnel); Windsor (Ambassador Bridge). The preferred Conference hotel, the Best Western Inn on the Bay, is only 300 metres to the Bayshore Community Centre, where the Conference is taking place. The workshop locations, Upwards Art and Grey Bruce Makers are approximately 4 city blocks apart. The workshop locations are about a 35 minute walk from the Best Western. Carpooling will be arranged through the private Facebook group.
