See the art hanging along the harbour
Urban Easel offers a public art experience, showcasing artists’ work reproduced as large-scale vinyl banners displayed outdoors along the Owen Sound harbour in partnership with the Owen Sound Arts Council.
From May through October 2025, this exhibition brought colour and creativity to the waterfront. In October, the banners move indoors to the Owen Sound Public Library, where they remain on view until May 2026.
This year’s Urban Easel exhibition includes banners from the Canadian Encaustic Conference (CEC), hosted in Owen Sound in September 2025. The Conference brought together Canadian and international artists to share, learn, and create in community. The CEC banners highlight encaustic works from both local and international artists, adding a global dimension to the Urban Easel experience.
