Raise Your Voice is a curated exhibition of art that challenges injustice, disrupts silence, and amplifies what needs to be heard. Whether personal or political, quiet resistance or loud declaration—this is art that insists on being seen and heard.
The selected works span a range of media and perspectives, confronting themes such as human rights, climate crisis, Indigenous sovereignty, identity, gender, racial justice, and mental health.

Raise Your Voice: Art That Refuses to Stay Silent is the inaugural exhibition at Upwards Gallery. We couldn’t imagine a better way to open our doors than with work that demands to be seen, heard, and felt.
Upwards Gallery is a new space for art, ideas, and community in Owen Sound. Our vision is to champion creativity, spark dialogue, and provide a platform for artists whose voices need to rise.
This exhibition, juried by Monique Stewart, Joan Beecroft, and Amelia Kraemer, sets the tone for what’s ahead—bold, thought-provoking, and unapologetically engaged. We are honoured to begin our journey here, with you.
